Example: identify missing spreadsheet IDs
Suppose one Excel export contains A101, A102 and A105 while another contains A102, A105 and A109. Paste the values from the first column, add a line with ---, then paste the second column:
A101
A102
A105
---
A102
A105
A109The values unique to the first list are A101, unique to the second list are A109, and common values are A102 and A105. This is a text comparison; the tool does not directly load a binary Excel .xlsx file.

Why two lists may not match
IDs containing leading zeros should often be imported as text: 00123 and 123 may be different identifiers. Leading or trailing spaces, capitalization, duplicate values, and hidden Unicode characters can also affect matching. Agree on a comparison rule and verify example records before using the result to update a workbook.
